Can I use an eSIM for calls and SMS?

Skratch eSIMs are pre-paid mobile data only meaning you can’t use them to make calls or send SMS text messages. However you can still use internet based calling and messaging services like iMessage, Whatsapp and FaceTime as outlined here.
