Can I pause my eSIM once it’s activated?
Unfortunately once a plan is activated, it can’t be paused. The validity period for our 7 Day and 30 Day plans both begin at activation or first network connection. From this point onwards, the countdown continues whether you use the data or not. For this reason, we recommend not activating the data plan until you’re actually ready to use the plan.
If you want to “pause” your data usage, there are a few ways you can slow down your consumption:
- Turn off the eSIM in settings – this stops it from using data, but it does not stop the validity period from counting down.
- Switch between SIMs – you can keep your physical SIM (or another eSIM) active for calls/texts and disable the travel eSIM temporarily.
- Buy multiple smaller plans – if you want flexibility, choose shorter-duration plans so you can activate them when needed. Or buy less data and top up as you go.
